Groomington Coat Factory was founded in 2010 by a 23 year old girl, a Jeep and a whole lot of ambition. Cait Lauria, Groomington’s owner and founder, decided one day that she was going to take a leap of faith and do what she has always wanted, start her own business. With a tub in her trunk, Cait would drive from client to client grooming pet’s in client’s yards and homes slowly building up clientele. In January 2011, our first mobile grooming unit, was purchased from a top of the line manufacturer in Indiana. With a little advertising and a lot of client referrals, Groomington Coat Factory continued to grow quickly.
By 2025, Groomington Coat Factory had expanded into four state-of-the-art mobile grooming units, a beautiful grooming salon in Midland Park, New Jersey, and a pet cafe & dog and cat specialty store with grooming in Westwood, New Jersey, called WestWoof!
Today the company proudly continues to grow it’s 2000+ clientele all over the Northern Bergen County area.
Meet our Stylists and Staff Members!
Cait
Our CEO and Head Stylist, Cait Lauria, has years of experience with animals of all sizes. At the young age of fourteen, Cait began working with exotic animals by assisting in children’s birthday parties which taught young kids the importance of these amazing creatures as well as adding a hint of entertainment and humor to their outrageous experience. Feeding, Caring for and grooming are also a necessity for any animal, especially the exotic ones. After nearly five years, Cait ended her job working with all creatures like tarantulas and scorpions to wallabies and binturongs. (We weren’t kidding when we said “exotic” animals) and decided to transition to something a little more basic: dogs and cats.
Cait is now an award winning groomer and has been a in the industry since 2007. She began her grooming career at a pet resort where she learned the ropes of the grooming realm. After leaving the pet resort nearly a year prior, Cait started Groomington Coat Factory from the ground up! With only a few clients and spreading the word through word of mouth, Groomington quickly grew into the company that it is today. Being an advocate of education, Cait graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelors Degree. She is also a certified graduate of NASH Academy of Animal Arts and continues to learn about the grooming industry by participating in conventions and taking continuing education classes several times a year. Cait has several prestigious awards under her belt including 201 magazine’s coveted Best Of Bergen title several years in a row and International Competition Rising Star Award.
Being a lover of animals, Cait does have several pets of her own. She has Keltie, a Shetland Sheepdog, Wilbur, a Cockapoo, Crue, a German Shepherd, Norman, a Maltipoo, Henry, a French Bulldog, Walter, another French Bulldog, Karl, her Toy Poodle which she uses for grooming competitions throughout the year, Mr. Feeny, an American Short Haired Cat, and Sergey, her lovable husband!
Jenna
Jenna is a Pet Stylist at our Salon in Midland Park. Might we mention she is no stranger to the pet industry!
Daisy
Wingardium fur-iosa! Meet Daisy, one of our resident grooming wizards who’s been transforming scruffy pups into snuggly masterpieces for over seven years. For Daisy, grooming isn’t just a career—it’s her calling, her creative outlet, and her daily dose of doggie joy. She’s known for her calming presence, gentle touch, and the uncanny ability to get even the squirmiest of pups to relax like they’re at a five-star spa (complete with tail wags and treats, of course).
A proud Hufflepuff with a heart of gold and a wand—err, brush—in hand, Daisy brings her signature mix of patience, compassion, and just a pinch of magic to every grooming session. She believes that every dog deserves to feel safe, seen, and absolutely fabulous.
When she’s not knee-deep in suds and shenanigans, Daisy’s living her best whimsical life. She’s an avid builder of intricate Harry Potter LEGO sets (don’t challenge her trivia skills unless you’re ready to Huffle-struggle), a devoted plant mom with a green thumb that rivals Professor Sprout’s, and the loving human to a wonderful daughter and two delightfully mischievous cats who keep life just the right amount of chaotic.
Whether your pup needs a full glam makeover or just a little tidy-up and TLC, Daisy is here with scissors, smiles, and a whole lot of heart. Expect cuddles, kindness, and maybe a few happy howls.

Sharon
If you’ve ever walked through our doors and been greeted with a warm smile that instantly puts you at ease, chances are you’ve met Sharon Abbood. Though she’s far too humble to ever boast, Sharon is the kind of woman whose quiet presence holds multitudes. A lifelong animal lover and proud dog mom to a spirited Chihuahua and a lovable Chiweenie, she brings a gentle calm to our busy space—along with a sparkle of mischief, especially when the topic turns to cars or jam competitions.
When she’s not handling our front desk with grace and kindness, Sharon can be found behind the wheel of her beloved T-Bird, cruising with confidence or burning a little rubber at the track—yes, you heard that right. She may be reserved in conversation, but when it comes to classic cars and racing, her bold spirit truly shines. Her need for speed is matched only by her love for her community. Deeply involved in her local church, Sharon serves on the vestry, offering her time and heart to guide and uplift others in faith and friendship.
But perhaps one of Sharon’s most unexpectedly delightful talents is her legendary skill in the kitchen—particularly in the jam and jelly department. She’s a multi-time “Best in Show” winner at the New Jersey State Fair, where her lovingly prepared preserves have wowed judges and fairgoers alike. One unforgettable year, Sharon entered eight different creations and walked away with seven first-place ribbons, two special awards, and the top prize. True to form, she never made a fuss about it—just quietly continued to do what she loves: bringing people joy through simple, beautiful things.
Sharon finds beauty in the little details—whether it’s crafting the perfect marmalade, making a nervous client feel at home, or coaxing a smile from a wiggly pup in the lobby. Her warmth, talent, and unwavering kindness make her an irreplaceable part of our team, and a true gem in every sense of the word. She may not believe she’s saving the world—but anyone who meets her knows she makes it sweeter, softer, and a whole lot more special.
Danielle
If you crossed a haunted house with a petting zoo and added some killer album art, you’d land somewhere near Danielle’s vibe. A lifelong animal lover with a flair for the dark and dreamy, Danielle brings a unique blend of gentleness and goth to our grooming fam. She’s got two pups, two cats, and enough eyeliner to weather a thunderstorm—basically, she’s your pet’s new cool best friend.
Danielle has been obsessed with pets since she was little, but cats? Cats are her cryptonite. She just gets them—their moods, their mystery, and their need to act like they own the place. (She’s not wrong.)
Outside the grooming salon, Danielle lives in a world of art, music, and a little bit of the macabre. She’s got a serious passion for illustration and is always sketching something magical, moody, or both. If My Chemical Romance comes on, don’t be surprised if she starts singing along mid-poodle trim (with precision, of course). Horror movies are her happy place, and if your dog’s name is Ghost, Salem, or Freddy—prepare for instant bonding.
Danielle’s superpower is blending calm care with a creative edge, making your pet feel safe and stylish all at once. Whether she’s brushing out a tail or sketching a tattoo-worthy portrait, everything she does comes from the heart.

Allie
Allie has always been the type to follow her heart—especially when it’s covered in fur. From the time she was little, she knew she was destined to work with animals. At just 16, she brought home her first “found” cat (spoiler alert: she definitely bought it), and she’s been building her own personal pet parade ever since. These days, she shares her home with a Cane Corso who keeps her on her toes and a beloved bunny—because ever since she was 8 years old, life has never felt complete without one.
She started grooming professionally at 19 and hasn’t looked back. What drives her? The chance to turn a messy mop into a masterpiece, to bring out the sparkle in every scruffy pup, and—someday—to win a grooming competition that shows off her talent and dedication. Allie dreams big and grooms bigger. Her next goal? Learning the ins and outs of creative grooming to bring even more flair, color, and artistry to her work. She’s also game to learn how to groom other animals (anyone got a sheep or a hedgehog? Just kidding… kind of).
But don’t let the soft side fool you—Allie’s got adrenaline in her veins. When she’s not grooming, you’ll likely find her tearing it up on a dirt bike or carving her way down a snowy mountain. She’s fearless, fun, and full of heart, balancing her love for wild adventures with an unshakable dedication to the pets she works with.
Allie brings a youthful energy, a creative spark, and a deep love for animals of all kinds to our team. Whether it barks, hops, or purrs, you can bet Allie’s ready to care for it like it’s her own—and probably sneak it a treat or two along the way.
Ana
Meet Ana, our soulful, sparkle-loving, serenade-singing groomer who brings creativity, compassion, and a whole lotta good energy to the grooming table. Originally from Venezuela, Ana grooms in Spanish with a rhythm that’s just as smooth as her scissor skills. Whether she’s pampering pups or calming anxious souls with her soothing voice (yes, she will sing to your dog if they’re nervous—and probably even if they’re not), Ana makes sure every furry friend feels like the star of the show.
She’s the proud dog mama to JJ, a spunky 17-year-old Jack Russell mix who’s been her sidekick through life, love, and lint rollers. Ana’s journey in the pet world began with hosting doggie playgroups in the park, and she’s been sniffing out knowledge on canine behavior ever since. She’s not just about the cute cuts—she’s here for the emotional connection, too.
When she’s off the clock, you’ll find Ana elbows-deep in her next craft project, snapping dreamy photos, decorating everything in sight, or zipping around on her bike in search of the next food truck or live music spot. And if she casually asks you (or your pup) what time you were born—don’t worry, she’s just trying to read your stars. Ana’s passionate about astrology and is likely to guess your zodiac sign and your dog’s moon rising before the grooming session is over.
If you’re looking for a groomer who vibes with your dog’s energy, sings with their soul, and makes them look absolutely pawsome in the process—Ana’s your gal.
Maria
If there’s a dog in the room, you can bet Maria’s already halfway to giving it a cuddle (with perfect, fluff-approved form). From the time she was little, dogs were her soulmates—and now, she’s turned that lifelong obsession into a full-blown passion with shears.
Originally on the path to becoming a social worker, Maria had a major “pawspective” shift in her 30s and decided to follow her heart—and her Shih Tzu, Benji—straight into the grooming world. (Benji fully approves of this career change, by the way.)
When she’s not pampering pups, you’ll find Maria sipping coffee like it’s her love language, dancing Zumba like no one’s watching (but if they are, they’re impressed), or hiking like a spiritual llama goddess through New Jersey’s finest trails. She’s also an avid reader of all things motivational and woo-woo—and proudly reps her Peruvian roots, especially if ceviche is involved.
Maria brings good vibes, gentle hands, and major tail-wagging energy to our grooming fam. ¡Vamos perritos!
Ashley Judith
From the moment she entered the world (first word: meow—no joke), Ashley Judith was destined to live a life surrounded by animals. While other kids were playing house with dolls, she was diapering her cat and gently rocking her to sleep like a feline princess. Her love for animals didn’t just start early—it exploded out of the cradle and never slowed down.
Ashley’s grooming journey began with a little begging and a lot of determination—she talked her way into PetSmart in 2010, landed a job as a bather, and the rest is fluff-filled history. She studied grooming techniques like an obsessed artist, pieced together the best of what she saw, and taught herself to master the art of the glow-up. Nothing makes her happier than taking a scruffy pup and transforming them into a certified cutie patootie. Well—almost nothing. Watching a pet parent tear up with joy as they scoop up their freshly polished pup? That’s the real paycheck.
Over the years, she’s become a bit of a grooming nomad—jumping from shop to shop across Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, helping salons and fellow groomers level up wherever she went. But now, Ashley’s finally found her forever pack right here at Groomington Coat Factory—and we are not letting her go.
At home, she runs a full-blown pet circus (minus the clowns): three cats, three dogs, two rabbits, three ball pythons, and one bold little jumping spider. Think Animal Planet meets a glitter bomb—each critter is her pride and joy. And when she’s not grooming, she’s dancing around the shop, singing to the dogs (and whoever else is lucky enough to be listening), or scooping up strays and helping them find the homes they deserve.
For Ashley, grooming is more than a career—it’s her calm place, her creative zone, and her way of making the world just a little softer and kinder. Her parents say she can’t save every animal on Earth… but that’s not stopping her from trying.
